Dog friendly pubs

If you are the proud owner of a four-legged friend, you may find that when it comes to booking a holiday, you can’t imagine parting with them. They are a part of the family after all, so why not take them with you?

Thankfully, when you stay at Trawsfynydd Leisure Village in Snowdonia, you can bring along your canine companion and make them part of the family holiday. In fact, Snowdonia is the perfect place for a doggy-friendly break with stunning natural surroundings. You’ll even find that many of the pubs are dog-friendly so you can enjoy a tipple or a bite to eat with your dog in tow at one of the many dog-friendly pubs in Snowdonia.

The Bryntirion Inn, Bala

Located just outside of Bala, ‘The Bryn’ was awarded the title of most dog-friendly pub in the country in 2017 as part of the Dog-Friendly Pub Awards. The pub has a family-friendly and traditional feel with a cosy log fire and a heated courtyard, you’ll be able to settle in nicely when you visit.

The menus are extensive but make sure to try the famous ‘Bryn bara’ filled with Welsh Black beef, mushroom and ale casserole.

Albion Ale House, Conwy

This good looking venue is the perfect place to stop for a few drinks and a chat. The owners decided to refrain from including a TV or jukebox in the pub, leaving space for the pub to fill with the sounds of people chatting rather than sports or music. The pub was opened by four competing breweries who saw a gap for a drinks-only pub.

The pub is very dog-friendly and usually has doggy biscuits available for any peckish four-legged friends.

Min Y Mor Hotel, Barmouth

Sat on the seafront, this pub is perfectly located for those who want to do a little exploring or have a walk along the beach before settling in for a bite to eat or a few drinks. The area is particularly beautiful so you’ll get great views from this pub. With a tempting menu and a fantastic drinks selection, you’ll have no problems making yourself and your pup comfortable here.

Ty Mawr Hotel, Llanbedr

With their name translating to ‘Big House’, the Ty Mawr Hotel prides itself on its welcoming and friendly atmosphere, which even stretches to well-behaved pooches! There is a large beer garden and cosy but stylish interiors, so this pub will make you feel welcome as well as your dog. There is a great selection of beers and real ales to choose from, as well as everything else you would hope to find behind the bar, so make sure to sample what’s on tap.

The Brondanw Arms, Llanfrothen

This pretty pub has a quaint village charm to it, offering the traditional look of a Welsh pub, with plenty of cosy features including a roaring log fire. Your dogs will be welcomed here so you can get comfy and enjoy a drink or two, or order something a little more substantial. In the summer, you can enjoy sitting outside in the beer garden or settle down in front of the log fire during winter.
