October 2013

One of the country’s leading leisure and holiday groups has this month (October, 2013) saved staff from redundancy and unemployment. This was following the sale of a competing company that has left them jobless.

Pure Leisure Group has taken on 30% of the head office team from South Lakeland Parks in Cumbria. They would otherwise have been left without jobs in the change of ownership.

Tony Fox, Managing Director of Pure Leisure Group said:

“We are delighted to be taking the additional staff on as they are all highly experienced and valuable personnel who will be a huge asset to us. As a result of the sale, staff are losing their jobs. And I am pleased to say we have been able to save nearly a third of the head office team by creating employment within our portfolio of parks.”

Pure Leisure Group originally established South Lakeland Parks and then sold it in 2006.

Tony, who manages a number of leisure parks for Pure Leisure Group in Cumbria and Lancashire added:

“We are keen to expand our business and we are actively looking at acquiring more parks across the country to add to our portfolio meaning we need more staff to help us do this.”

Leading leisure entrepreneur John Morphet, who owns the award winning Pure Leisure Group operates four holiday lodge and caravan parks in the Southern Lake District. A further five are based in Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire with Bridlington Links Golf & Leisure Estate in East Yorkshire completing the UK portfolio.

Overseas the company owns Royal Westmoreland, a luxurious 750 acre estate in Barbados.
