North West based Pure Leisure Group is investing £2m in developing a brand new park location that will offer a new concept in holiday homes.

The Yealands at Carnforth on the Lancashire/Cumbria border is being created from scratch and will offer a new range of holiday accommodation, which is manufactured in the UK.

The unique new design is the brainchild of Pure Leisure Group owner John Morphet, who wanted to develop the next generation of holiday homes.

He said:

“Our holiday parks continue to be extremely successful as owners and holidaymakers look to make the most of their leisure time. The industry has evolved with caravans becoming larger and more luxurious and the popularity of our five star lodges has gone through the roof since the recession.

“My new concept is a hybrid of the two – halfway between a caravan and a lodge – and it offers modern, stylish accommodation with floor to ceiling windows and bi-fold doors leading directly onto terraces and the very highest interior fit-out.

“I’ve been in the caravan industry more than 40 years and believe this model will attract a new wave of owners who want an affordable holiday home in a unique location.”

The Yealands Launch Weekend

The Yealands is opposite the Group’s flagship South Lakeland Leisure Village, in north Lancashire and owners will have access to all the facilities of the sister site, including a swimming pool, gym and spa complex, bar and restaurant.

John said:

“The emphasis will be on tranquillity and conservation and we have invested in careful groundworks and landscaping to preserve the open feel of the site which is flanked on one side by a nature reserve.

“Being able to access the facilities of the South Lakeland Leisure Village just a 2 minute walk away will give owners the best of both worlds.

“I developed the Leisure Village from scratch 12 years ago and it is incredibly satisfying to be doing it again here but creating a totally different offer for people.

“It is a first for the UK and I am excited to hear people’s response.”

There will be 138 two-bedroom holiday properties at The Yealands, fed from a central biomass system that will supply hot water to each unit to keep both running/living costs and owners’ carbon footprints to a minimum. Prices in the first phase will start from £69,995.
