Halloween Activities in the Lake District

The Lake District is a fantastic place to visit at any time of year, and Halloween is no exception. In fact, there are plenty of reasons why this is the perfect time to visit this beautiful part of the country. There are several different events going on over the Halloween period in the Lakes. Where you can find fun and spooky activities that will be suitable for the whole family. Here are just a few of the events we’re looking forward to.
Halloween at Muncaster Castle

The castle claims to be one of the most haunted castles in Britain. It supposedly houses the spirit known as Tom Fool, also known as Thomas Skelton, who was the last jester of the castle. Skelton was known for playing tricks on guests but may have had a more sinister and murderous side to him.
With plenty of other hauntings to speak of, Muncaster Castle is the perfect location for Halloween events and with a week full of spooky celebrations, you won’t be disappointed. With events and activities such as the scary maze, Muncaster monster cabaret, twilight owls and the castle Halloween tour, there is plenty to check out this Halloween.

Halloween Fun at Walby Farm Park

Walby Farm Park is a great place for the whole family to visit. And with plenty of Halloween activities to take part in, this is the perfect time to visit. There will be several different activities taking place throughout the week and every child will receive a free pumpkin.
As well as Halloween-themed activities, your children can play in the play areas. And meet the many animals, including donkeys, alpacas, pigs and reindeer.

Holker Hall is a grand house with beautiful gardens which has been around since the beginning of the sixteenth century. With plenty to see and do around the hall and gardens, you can enjoy a family day out at any time of year.
However, at Halloween, there will be some particularly special events on to keep you and the family entertained. Over Halloween weekend, Holker Hall will be hosting the Witches and Wizardry School of Excellence. Which is described as a ‘fully immersive theatre event where children are taken on a mystical journey with witches and wizards.’ As well as this event, there will be creepy crafts and a self-guided garden trail.
