Lake Retreat Holiday Homes Go on Display

25 April 2017

A picturesque luxury lodge development that sits between the Lakes. Bay and Dales will open its gates to the public from April 29-May 1. A range of new lake retreat holiday homes and plots will be available to view at the multi-award-winning South Lakeland Leisure Village. Which is near Carnforth in north Lancashire, with prices starting from £69,995 and rising to £250,000.

Sat on the edge of the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the leisure village began life as a gravel pit. But over the years has been transformed by owners Pure Leisure Group into an exclusive getaway. One with an array of stylish holiday homes set around a lake that’s perfect for fishing and sailing. The five-star park operates on an 11-month season. Its facilities include a restaurant, bar, state-of-the-art gym, indoor pool with steam room and beauty therapy suites.

Rodger and Pat Lawrence, from Birmingham, first bought a luxury lodge in 2011. They have just upgraded to a three-bedroom bespoke holiday home with its own decking area and a jetty over the water. “I sailed when I was young and it’ll be nice to get a boat for the lake,” said Mr Lawrence, who is retired.

“We try to visit every six to eight weeks and we love it here. It’s peaceful, convenient and by renting the property out when we’re not using it, we effectively get to use it for free when we visit for long weekends or mid-week breaks.”

Flagship Offering

This flagship offering from Pure Leisure Group’s portfolio of 11 award-winning holiday parks and luxury lodge developments typifies owner John Morphet’s approach to the industry.

“The most valuable asset anyone has is time and it is our job to make sure that our owners and guests make the very best of that time. This means friendly staff who are always on hand to help, clean and attractive surroundings and world-class facilities. At all our parks guests can choose between putting their feet up and relaxing in the comfort of a beautiful holiday home, or heading out into the countryside to explore some incredible landscapes,”

After four decades of buying and developing parks around the UK, as well as growing the ultra-exclusive Royal Westmoreland estate in Barbados, Mr Morphet’s approach appears to be working.

“The number of Britons holidaying at home has been increasing for a number of years and each of our parks is doing exceptionally well. With fears over Brexit and poor exchange rates, owning a holiday home here in England is a safe, affordable and appealing option.

South Lakeland Leisure Village holds a special place in my heart because it’s such an attractive setting and is also in a fantastic location, with the Lake District fells and honeypot villages, Morecambe Bay and the Yorkshire Dales all within a half hour drive.” Among the holiday homes and plots that will be available to view over the bank holiday weekend will be the 100th holiday lodge built by Lakeland Leisure Homes – a local company specialising in beautiful, bespoke lodges.”
