The Best Family Day Trips Within an Hour of Our North Lancashire Parks

20 September 2018

Lancashire

Our holiday parks are well placed for you to get out and about and enjoy the local area. We have two parks in the North Lancashire area which are ideally located for day trips to nearby attractions. There are some great places to visit, for Lancashire family day trips less than an hour away.

Lancaster

Distance from Crook O’Lune: 4.1 miles/16 mins

The historic city of Lancaster is a fantastic day trip for the whole family. Best of all, it is only a short drive from both of our Lancashire parks. There’s a busy city centre with plenty of shops for a little retail therapy. Head to one of the independent coffee shops for a drink and a bite to eat, then take in some history on a Lancaster Castle tour where you can learn about the city’s history with witches. You can then venture down to the quay and visit the Maritime Museum. Once you’re finished, walk up to Williamson Park where the kids can enjoy the park as well as the mini zoo and butterfly house.

Blackpool

Distance from Crook O’Lune: 36.3 miles/46 mins

Blackpool is a seaside resort town so it offers an abundance of things to do with the family. Being just 15 minutes away from our Primrose Bank holiday park, you are perfectly located to explore Blackpool and experience all it has to offer. You could spend a full day at Blackpool Pleasure Beach where you will find thrilling rollercoasters and family friendly attractions before you head to Blackpool Tower to get incredible views above the town. You could even visit Blackpool Zoo where you can meet a herd of Asian elephants or the family of gorillas.

Preston

Distance from Crook O’Lune: 24.8 miles/41 mins

With both of our North Lancashire holiday parks being so close to Preston, this is an easy city to visit, and there is plenty of things to do with the whole family. Visit Wild Discovery where you can interact with lots of different animals in an educational setting. You can discover more nature at Brockholes Nature Reserve where you are able to explore at your own pace or attend a family event. Enjoy a history lesson with a twist at Samlesbury Hall where you can learn about the history of the stately home for free.

When you stay at one of our North Lancashire holiday parks, you are perfectly located to explore the local area and enjoy some fantastic days out without having to travel for hours. You can book your holiday online or get in touch with a member of our friendly team who will be more than happy to help.
