The historic city of Lancaster is a fantastic day trip for the whole family. Best of all, it is only a short drive from both of our Lancashire parks. There’s a busy city centre with plenty of shops for a little retail therapy. Head to one of the independent coffee shops for a drink and a bite to eat, then take in some history on a Lancaster Castle tour where you can learn about the city’s history with witches. You can then venture down to the quay and visit the Maritime Museum. Once you’re finished, walk up to Williamson Park where the kids can enjoy the park as well as the mini zoo and butterfly house.

Blackpool is a seaside resort town so it offers an abundance of things to do with the family. You could spend a full day at Blackpool Pleasure Beach where you will find thrilling rollercoasters and family friendly attractions before you head to Blackpool Tower to get incredible views above the town. You could even visit Blackpool Zoo where you can meet a herd of Asian elephants or the family of gorillas.

With both of our North Lancashire holiday parks being so close to Preston, this is an easy city to visit, and there is plenty of things to do with the whole family.
