The Best Lake District Nightlife
3 March 2019
While you may think of the Lake District as being a tranquil, calm and quiet, and while this is true, there is so much more to the area than that. In fact, you can find a great nightlife in this beautiful part of the country. So, if you’re visiting one of our three Lake District holiday parks, make sure to check out some of the local nightlife.
This is the perfect venue to see some of the best local bands and cover bands. Bootleggers is known for its fantastic atmosphere, with a capacity of up to 300 people. There is also a gallery bar upstairs which is perfect for a more relaxed evening. You can enjoy live music every Thursday, Friday and Sunday, but make sure to check what’s on when you’re planning to visit as some events are ticketed.
The Fizzy Tarte
Head to the beautiful Bowness-on-Windermere for a fun night at cocktail bar The Fizzy Tarte. With a huge variety of cocktails, you can try something new when you visit this bar. This is the perfect place to celebrate and enjoy an evening out while you are dressed to impress! You could even start your evening with a cocktail making class with the mixologists, just make sure to book in advance.
The Lily Bar is far more than just a pub or bar. As well as serving great food and drinks, there are plenty of events going on here to liven up your evening in Ambleside. On Wednesday nights you can enjoy a spot of Speedquizzing, like a traditional pub quiz but with a twist. Other nights of the week you may be able to catch a live band in action while you settle in with your drinks.
Brewery Arts Centre
The Brewery Arts Centre has a little bit of everything going on. It is the arts hub in Kendal, offering everything from live music to stand up comedy and more. If you’re visiting the local area, this is a great place to check out to see if there is an event that you might be interested in. Whether you’re visiting for an art exhibition, to check out a live band or to enjoy a comedy night, you’ll have a night to remember.
The Bitter End
If you decide to venture up into the north of the Lake District, you’ll find The Bitter End pub in Cockermouth, where they produce their own award-winning beers. The cosy setting creates the perfect atmosphere to enjoy an evening out whilst giving you a taste of the Lakes. As well as their own beers, you can also enjoy their craft gins, or maybe sample their menu filled with delicious dishes
The Lounge Hotel & Bar
Located in the pretty town of Penrith, The Lounge is a great place to visit for food or drinks, or even both! The drinks menu is extensive so you will be well and truly spoilt for choice, but the gins really are excellent, and if there is a group of you, you can even opt for a gin carafe to go that little bit further.
There are so many places to choose from when you are looking for somewhere for a night out in the Lake District. If you are staying at one of our Lake District holiday parks you will have plenty available to you when you want to spend an evening out. If you’re not sure where to try, our staff onsite will be more than happy to help you decide.
