Water Sports to Try Your Hand at This Summer

15 July 2018

Water sports

If the end of spring has been anything to go by, we’ll be hoping for a fantastic summer with plenty of sunshine and hot days. So, if you’re feeling a little optimistic, why not think about trying your hand at water sports this summer? To help you cool off under the blazing sun? Our Pure Leisure holiday parks provide the perfect base for getting stuck into some exciting water-based activities. Here are just a few things you could try your hand at this summer.

Fishing

Fishing can be incredibly relaxing. It can help you to wind down and get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Many of our parks have the facilities so you can enjoy a spot of fishing during your holiday. You can find these parks in the Lake District, Lancashire, Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire.

This is a great way to take in and enjoy the beautiful scenery around you as you sit in a spectacular setting.

Wild Swimming

There are plenty of beautiful places around the country with lakes, rivers and other bodies of water that are perfect for wild swimming. You can find out more here about where to swim and how to stay safe.

Alternatively, if you would like to go swimming somewhere a little cleaner, you can always try out one of our holiday park swimming pools.

White Water Tubing

This is a thrilling activity that will take nerves of steel! With white water tubing, you can take on rapids and waterfalls in just an inflatable tube. Keswick Extreme offers this activity – ideal if you’re staying at one of our Lake District holiday parks.

It’s worth noting that white water tubing is for over 18s only. But if you want a similar activity to get the kids involved in, you can check out lazy tubing which is suitable for 7 years and up.

Flyboarding

This futuristic water sport is perfect for the adventurer. With a special platform attached to your boots, you can fly through the air. As jets force water out of the bottom of the platform, propelling you along Lake Windermere.

The water sport is an incredible way to see the lake, allowing you to feel the sensation of flying. Find out more about getting involved here.

Boating

Boating is a great way to take in all the sights around you, especially at Lake Windermere. You can hire your own boat to take yourself and a group of family or friends around.

Whether you want to hire a rowing boat, motor boat or even try out some canoeing or kayaking, this is a great way to get in touch with nature and make the most of your holiday.

At Pure Leisure, we want to help you to get in touch with nature and enjoy a holiday away from the stresses of everyday life. Our holiday parks around the country help you to do just that, so why not take a look at our parks and consider us for your 2018 summer holiday?
