What to Pack for a Winter Staycation
6 December 2019
With the run-up to the Christmas season, you may be thinking about booking a little staycation. Whether it’s to celebrate the festive season or to have a bit of a de-stress. Whatever your reason for considering a holiday in the UK, you may be able to find the perfect place for a break with Pure Leisure.
So, if you’ve decided on where you’re staying, you’ll need to think about what you will bring with you to make your break all the more special. We’ve put together a winter staycation packing list for you so you can be perfectly prepared for your holiday.
Decent Shoes or Boots
Many of our Pure Leisure locations are known for being ideal walking locations. During the winter, it is even more important to make sure you have a good pair of shoes or walking boots to make sure you are up for whatever conditions you encounter. If you want to make the most of the local area, particularly if you’re staying in one of our many locations in and near the Lake District, making sure you’re prepared for the walking conditions is essential.
Waterproofs
Of course, it wouldn’t be a British staycation without the possibility of rain! This likelihood increases hugely in the winter, so make sure you have plenty of good options for things to wear when the weather is wet.
Entertainment
While there is plenty to see and do nearby to all of our holiday parks, you may find that there are some days or evenings that you just fancy staying onsite and enjoying the company of your family or friends. This is the perfect time to get started on a board or card game, or even to watch a film. You’ll be able to find televisions in our static caravans and lodges, but make sure to pack any other games, books, films, or other sources of entertainment.
Plenty of Delicious Food
Our lodges, caravans, and super pods come equipped with a kitchen. So you can rustle up your own delicious meals whenever you fancy. Some of our parks, such as South Lakeland Leisure Village feature facilities such as a restaurant and bar, so you can join us for meals as well. However, if you prefer, you can just stock your fridge with plenty of treats and enjoy the self-catered experience.
The Essentials
When you’re staying in one of our lodges, static caravans or pods, we want you to make yourself at home. One of the easiest ways to do this is to make sure you have all of your home essentials. Here is just a selection of some of the things you should make sure you don’t forget:
- Toothbrushes and toothpaste
- Shower gel
- Slippers
- Washing up liquid and sponges
- Toys for the kids
- Hat, gloves and scarf
Of course, there is plenty more that you will need to pack to have the perfect winter staycation. But these are just a few of our top suggestions to get you started!
We’ll let you take care of the packing and we’ll take care of the location. With 16 different holiday parks across the country, there is sure to be a location that would be absolutely perfect for your winter staycation. You can book your holiday today and start looking forward to your relaxing stay.
