Gardener Vacancy – Gledfield Estate

Job Purpose

As a Gardener, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds within the estate. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture, a strong eye for detail, and a proactive approach to garden maintenance and landscape care.

40 hours a week, Monday-Friday, No Accommodation Available.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Maintain all garden areas including lawns, flower beds, hedges, trees, and pathways.
  • Seasonal planting, pruning, mulching, weeding, and fertilizing as required.
  • Monitor plant health and apply pest/disease control treatments when necessary.
  • Operate and maintain gardening equipment such as lawnmowers, strimmer’s, and hedge trimmers.
  • Keep outdoor areas tidy and presentable at all times.
  • Carry out basic landscaping duties and improvements where needed.
  • Maintain water features and irrigation systems where applicable
  • Ensure garden waste is properly disposed of or composted.
  • Report any issues or required repairs.
  • To undergo specific training as indicated by the Manager as and when required.
  • Take all reasonable steps to protect the health, safety and welfare of all employees, patrons and visitors, by promoting safe working practices.
  • Comply with company policies, rules and procedures at all times.

Any other duties as required by your line manager commensurate with your role.

Skills required:

  • Knowledge of using a wide range of gardening machinery and hand tools
  • Previous experience in a similar position would be advantageous
  • A current full UK driving licence
  • Experience of driving ride on mowers

Education / Experience:

  • The right to work in the UK
  • Previous gardening experience is preferred.
  • A positive attitude with a willing to learn and improve
