Gardener Vacancy – Gledfield Estate
Job Purpose
As a Gardener, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds within the estate. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture, a strong eye for detail, and a proactive approach to garden maintenance and landscape care.
40 hours a week, Monday-Friday, No Accommodation Available.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
- Maintain all garden areas including lawns, flower beds, hedges, trees, and pathways.
- Seasonal planting, pruning, mulching, weeding, and fertilizing as required.
- Monitor plant health and apply pest/disease control treatments when necessary.
- Operate and maintain gardening equipment such as lawnmowers, strimmer’s, and hedge trimmers.
- Keep outdoor areas tidy and presentable at all times.
- Carry out basic landscaping duties and improvements where needed.
- Maintain water features and irrigation systems where applicable
- Ensure garden waste is properly disposed of or composted.
- Report any issues or required repairs.
- To undergo specific training as indicated by the Manager as and when required.
- Take all reasonable steps to protect the health, safety and welfare of all employees, patrons and visitors, by promoting safe working practices.
- Comply with company policies, rules and procedures at all times.
Any other duties as required by your line manager commensurate with your role.
Skills required:
- Knowledge of using a wide range of gardening machinery and hand tools
- Previous experience in a similar position would be advantageous
- A current full UK driving licence
- Experience of driving ride on mowers
Education / Experience:
- The right to work in the UK
- Previous gardening experience is preferred.
- A positive attitude with a willing to learn and improve
