Kitchen Porter Vacancy Loch Ness Highland Resorts
Job Purpose
We are looking for a Kitchen Porter to come and join our team at Lochness Highland resort.
As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll be responsible for keeping kitchen areas clean and sanitised, washing all cooking tools and utensils to ensure a ready supply for the chef and supporting the kitchen staff by taking on food preparation tasks.
This is a Zero Hours Contract with Weekend work required. There is no accommodation available with this role.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
• Assisting the Chef with the general running of the kitchen
• To ensure all pots, crockery, kitchen utensils etc. are washed, polished and stored appropriately and efficiently throughout service
• Ensure correct unloading and storing of food
• To collect and dispose of kitchen waste
• To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen and cold/dry store areas
• To exercise economy in the use of power and other supplies
• To undergo specific training as indicated by the Manager as and when required
• Take all reasonable steps to protect the health, safety and welfare of all employees, patrons and visitors, by promoting safe working practices
• Comply with company policies, rules and procedures at all times
• Any other duties as required by your line manager commensurate with your role
Skills required:
- A fast learner with an interest in kitchen work
- Willingness to adhere to health and safety rules
- Good organisational skills
- The ability to work well in fast paced environments
- The Right to Work in the UK
- Previous experience would be beneficial but not essential
