Leisure Attendant Vacancy South Lakeland Leisure Village
South Lakeland Leisure Village are recruiting two Leisure Assistants to join the team in Carnforth. One role is a zero hours contract, working as and when required over mornings, evenings and weekends to cover holidays and absence.
The second role is temporary covering maternity leave, is 32 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
- Answering telephone calls and dealing with queries on reception from prospective/existing members.
- To carry out reception and administration duties relation to the centre members, including bookings and membership enquiries.
- To provide product and Company information to Customers to a high standard of level of competence.
- To supervise the pool in a life guarding capacity when reaching 30 bathers
- To instruct members in the use of the fitness suite (supervised)
- To ensure a high standard of cleanliness and excellent public image is maintained
- To undergo specific training as indicated by the Duty Manager and be required to attend water-based training periodically
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained and comply with all legislation, regulations and as directed by the Company
- Reporting any health and safety issues to the Duty Manager
- Effectively maintain hygiene levels of the facilities and maintenance of equipment to a recognised level of capability
- Dealing with member enquiries and complaints
- Liaising with other team members to ensure tasks are completed effectively
Skills required:
- Good time management, is organised and creates a good impression, takes pride in quality of work and is always presentable
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey information clearly and accurately
- Experience in a similar role in a health/fitness club or local authority sports centre would be beneficial
- Excellent judgement, able to listen to members’ point of view/requirements and evaluate best option
