Welcome to Fell End Nature Reserve

Fell End Nature Reserve is a wonderful place to be. The scenic Nature Reserve is now open to both our guests and to the general public. Complementing the Arnside and Silverdale area of outstanding natural beauty.

The first wildlife spotting Hide, named after John Wilson for his outstanding contribution to conservation is now open for use. Among the protected wildlife spotted at the nature reserve are owls, marsh harrier, birds and deer. All of which have been spotted from the John Wilson Hide. Not only can you spot the beautiful wildlife but you can take a leisurely stroll through the nature reserve.

The John Wilson Hide serves as a tranquil lookout point for guests and includes the following heartfelt message: “Please make time in your busy lives to look at wildlife, in my experience you will find it enthralling and inspiring, and breathtakingly beautiful.”

The regularly visiting herd of Fallow deer are nearly always in sight in one corner of the reserve or another. And you could catch a glimpse of a Roe deer as well if you walk quietly through the wood. We have now pulled together a team of specialists on particular subjects such as botany, insects, moths, birds, butterflies and amphibians. They will be carrying out surveys of the reserve and you might see them there. Please do not hesitate to ask them any questions you may have. If there is anything that you would like additional information please get in touch. Come and enjoy nature at its best, and remember to leave nothing behind but your footprints. Please walk carefully around the plants so as not to damage them, try taking some close-up photographs so that you can remember the sight when you get home.

Please note that dogs are not welcome on the nature reserve.
