5 Child-Friendly Days Out in East Yorkshire

William’s Den – North Cave

This indoor and outdoor play space is a little different from the ones you’ve probably visited in the past. Everything is inspired by the nostalgia felt by the owners for their childhoods spent exploring the outdoors. The indoor spaces have the feel and look of the outdoors, but allow your kids to enjoy playtime no matter the weather.

The kids can enjoy climbing, running, creating and more, before you sit down and tuck into a delicious meal cooked on site.

The Deep – Hull

The Deep is an aquarium with plenty to offer. From the underwater viewing tunnel to the Kingdom of Ice, there is plenty to see during your visit. This is a great learning experience for the kids as they can find out about the prehistoric creatures that once populated the depths of the oceans as well as the creatures that live there now.  

You can stop off for lunch in one of the cafés or bring your own packed lunch to eat in the picnic area which is open at weekends and during school holidays.

Humber Bridge Country Park – Hessle

This 48-acre wood is a great place to get outside with the kids while you’re in East Yorkshire. Some areas of the park are allowed to grow wild in order to encourage wildflowers and wildlife, so this could be a great opportunity to see what you can spot. With chalk cliffs surrounding the park, it provides some beautiful views and spectacular sights.

There are plenty of amenities around, including baby changing, parking and places to grab a bite to eat.

Bugtopia – Hornsea

At Bugtopia, your kids can get up close and personal with everything from snakes to parrots, and, of course, plenty of bugs! Throughout the day, your children can learn about creepy crawlies, reptiles, birds and more as they get to handle some of the creatures themselves.

Inflata Nation – Beverley

More than a soft play area or a trampoline park, this is a double-decker inflatable theme park that could keep the kids entertained for hours. With an inflatable mountain, slides, climbing walls and plenty more, your kids will have great fun here.

If you have smaller children they can still have plenty of fun at Inflata Nation with a dedicated area for children aged four and under.
